Erial is full-bodied and intense. Displays aromas of blackberry, licorice and subtle mineral. The oak is well integrated, incorporating fine vanilla and toast notes. The tannins are ripe and well-structured, supporting a mouthfeel that is silky, bold, and properly balanced.  Estate-grown from select vineyards near Pesquera de Duero with a heavy content of limestone in the soils. Average vine age is 60-80 years old. Viticultural practices are integrated sustainable. To avoid the use of any chemicals, emphasis is placed on manual vineyard work, such as green pruning, tillage for weed management and deflowering. Irrigation is rare; implemented on vulnerable sites only during the most extreme conditions.  Clusters are handpicked and carefully sorted for quality before an entirely natural fermentation is carried out in shallow, temperature-controlled tanks. Secondary (malolactic) fermentation occurs spontaneously in barrels. Aged 12 months in 75% French and 25% American oak barriques. Just 4,000 cases produced annually. -91 Points Decanter
